Field notes

Before the next big impression.

A practical checklist for the first conversation. Start with what you know; the rest becomes part of the brief.

Four things worth thinking about

  1. The business, audience and decision the project needs to support.
  2. What already exists and what needs to change.
  3. The touchpoints, deliverables and approvals required.
  4. The budget range, launch timing and production responsibilities to discuss.

A first conversation is a starting point

Submitting an inquiry asks the team to respond. It does not confirm a booking, order, delivery date or price. The next step is to clarify your request and, where appropriate, prepare a written scope or proposal.

Design studies shown here are original illustrative concepts, not client case studies. No sales result, trademark clearance or production suitability is guaranteed.

Keep the initial request simple

Do not include payment-card details, passwords, government identity numbers, medical information or confidential third-party documents. If project files are needed, the team will agree an appropriate way to share them after the first conversation.

Ready when you are
